Jakarta Hotel Review: Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang

Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang

I booked a room at the Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang for two nights during my trip to Jakarta in July 2016. I discovered this hotel through Traveloka. For the standard of quality that it offered, I thought the price I paid for was good and reasonable.

My Experience at the Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang

Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang

I had a pleasant stay at the Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang. I got room 129 which had everything I needed. My bed was extremely comfortable.

The location of my room was not the best though. It was close to the hotel’s restaurant. Therefore there were a lot of noise during the day. In fact the noise woke me up early in the morning. If you’re not an early bird, I advise you to request for a room far from the restaurant.

Their hotel breakfast was alright. Like any other day, I started my day with a nice cup of tea. The choices of food were limited, but the amount of food served were sufficient to keep everyone full and happy. During my stay, I had tempe, porridge, snacks, acar and rice. Fruits, coffee, cold water and noodle were also served.

After I checked into the hotel, I went to the first floor to look for my hotel room. I saw some dirty plates on the floors along the hallway. That was because some guests made food orders during the day and after they had their meals, they left their leftovers outside their rooms.

I was happy when I saw a table in my hotel room. Yay! Previously I was staying at Pop! Hotel Kemang. I was a bit disappointed when I learned that there was no working table in my room. With a table in my hotel room now, I was able to work on my laptop.

Unfortunately the Internet connection was not satisfactory. I didn’t think it was terrible though. It was just unstable most of the time.

As for the bathroom, it was clean and spacious. The bathroom sink was a little clogged though.

Free coffee and tea were provided at the lobby. Guests can also read newspapers at the lobby while waiting for a cab. The hotel offered both smoking and non-smoking rooms. I picked the non-smoking room which also had a cable TV. I spent my weekend watching HBO, Discovery Channel and National Geographic. What a wonderful way to relax after a long hectic week!

The Lotte Supermarket was just next door. Whenever I got hungry, I will walk down to grab something to eat. The supermarket was wonderful. It offered almost everything I needed. I had one of my meals at Food Station which was inside the supermarket. The food offered were mostly western and Korean cuisines. There were also sushi and cakes available. Next to it was a bakery with plenty of fresh breads to choose from.

I asked the hotel receptionist if there was any massage available. Unfortunately the hotel didn’t have it. But there were places nearby where I can go for spa and massage.

I enjoyed my stay here. It was not the cheapest hotel in Kemang, but the value it offered was worth every cent spent. I would come back to the Amaris Hotel La Codefin Kemang whenever I visit Kemang again.
